4 Weeks Long ~ 75 Clock Hours

We offer two schedule to choose from. Students must be enrolled in either AM or PM and cannot be in both schedules at once. Both run Monday through Friday. The morning classes run from 9:00am to 1:30pm and the evening schedule runs from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. 

Students must complete all required admissions documents prior to the start of the Home Health Aide class. Financing must be arranged in the first week of class or before. There are no pre-requisites for this class however students must be 17 years of age or older to be enrolled. 

 

Students will also need to complete a CPR/First Aide course and have the option of doing the HIV/Aids and Bloodborne Pathogens Continuing education that we offer on the weekends. 

Upon gradaution the student will receive a diploma. There is no state licensure for HHA in Florida at this time. 

 

All students that graduate from our Home Health Aide Program can meet with student services to complete our career services advising. 

The Home Health Aide graduate can find employment in various health care settings, but primarily work in home health aide agencies. Usually the HHA should complete yearly continuing education credits to maintain employment. Some of these are listed below and can be taken here at Aguilas. 

 

  • Bloodborne Pathogens, Infection Control

  • Domestic Violence

  • Medical Record Documentation and Legal Aspects Appropriate to Nursing Assistants

  • Resident Rights

  • Communication with cognitively impaired clients

  • CPR skills

  • Medical Error Prevention and Safety
